This just happened to me twice in the last 24 hours: a candidate sends me his CV not by attachment, but via a link (to google documents in this case but the same goes for dropbox and similar services). Both links didn’t work for me so I had to email back asking for an attachment.
Not sure what the technical issue is but why do this in the first place? The file size of a CV is usually not very big (usually just a few hundred KB and definitely less than 1 MB) so download times are minimal (one of the main reasons for sending a link instead of the document). Just attach the document as normal. The recipient will be grateful to you.
